There are way more than 20 folk horror films in the genre. She made a 3+ hour documentary about folk horror that references several hundred films so leaving out the most popular and well known one doesn’t seem like a big deal.

Pollard didn’t allege that she was attacked inside her home by an owl; rather that she was attacked outside.
He gave a lengthy interview about the owl theory to a local website.
WORD. (Sorry don’t get a lot of Ghostwriter openings.)
There’s a philosophical theory about time called Eternalism that describes the block theory of the universe as all time is happening simultaneously. More complicated obviously but not a far-fetched idea.
Not gonna lie, the scariest thing here for me is the idea of trying to go to sleep while someone smoked an actual cigarette in the bed with me.
Maybe it’s just something about North Carolina but the klan sure likes hanging out in spooky places. Back in the 70's my uncle and his high school friends accidentally surprised a small klan rally at the Devil’s Tramping Ground but he claims they stuck around and beat their asses.
Thanks for sharing this.
A scary coda for you: I drank down my granny’s entire snuff can as a toddler (this was a year or two after I was found teething on a dead mouse from a trap.) It’s a wonder I’m alive.
Maybe it was unintentional on the part of the show runners but I immediately thought of the 2016 video when Florence visited a teen dying of cancer and sang the song with her. That really cemented “Dog Days” as the saddest happy song I know.
I think this is more loosely based on real historical figures in a similar style to season 1; at least Kerry Bishé is directly channeling Aimee Semple McPherson.
I can catch you up on all of it:

I recommend applying to the board if you like “choose your own adventures.”
Maybe when they write Nat as an actual character, I’ll care about her relationship with Alice. Right now she only seems to exist to have had kids to be a plot point.
I experienced this with my grandpa in the days before he died; for me it was more comforting than scary. He passed from Alzheimer’s so towards the end he had no speech or fine motor skills. He could only kind of moan, spit phlegm away from himself and rub his hands over his blankets. He’d been a craftsman and…
It was believable up until the point where you decided to wear head to toe thrift stores clothes without washing them first.
I saw Ju-on (the original Japanese version of The Grudge) in the theater and during the pivotal crawling down the stairs scene, a girl in the row behind me put her bare foot on my arm rest and brushed up against me. I have never screamed so loudly in my life before laughing hysterically with a room full of strangers.
As much as I loved Dylan Mckay seeing him play Koresh Jr. on Criminal Minds was really gratifying.
He was also a great guest star on Law and Order: SVU — season 10 episode 1 “Trials” with Sara Gilbert.
I can assure you that the novel Bird Box was a hot pile of garbage made up of an interesting concept acted out by characters less 3 dimensional than paper dolls. The movie was pretty good by comparison.
Did you ever read Chip Kidd’s novel The Cheese Monkeys? It was better than it had any right to be
It keeps disappearing from YouTube but the best Macho Man promo I’ve ever seen is from a match in Ponce, Puerto Rico where he brags about getting hand written letters from fans, process the city name repeatedly as“Pawn-see” and ends the promo by snarling “Sex.... Yeaaaaaaaaaah.”
