There's always been an element of assholishness here, but it was counterbalanced by a sense of "hey, here's a bunch of stuff we know is kinda lame but man we love it!" Now there's a lot more "this stuff sucks, heh heh heh, BURN!!!" which is a shame.

No no, that's "It Ain't Easy Being White."
The fuck does a Grateful Dead album have to do with Garden State?
Pretty sure he made his way back to Stars Hollow, co-owns Luke's Diner.
Trek 2009 certainly is. Into Darkness is hard to forgive.
Yeah, it came out when I was in 9th Grade, and it totally fit everything I was going through, or at least thought I was going through.
I don't know, he ended up being pretty likable in Shattered Glass. At the very least, you felt sorry for him.
As does the Tusk/White Album comparison. Both spotlight three very different songwriters not really giving a fuck about what the others were writing about, it's like three solo records smushed together on one double album, but somehow it all comes together brilliantly.
Tango and Mirage are both mildly disappointing in different ways. There's nothing wrong with Mirage at all, it just never rises above "pretty good." Tango has a lot of great moments when you get past the 80's production, but Stevie was waaaaay off in the wilderness at that point, and all of her songs are pretty bad.
You rate "Sloop John D" over "Sloop John F?" The Beach Boys really hit their stride with the last in the trilogy!
Turn it off, turn it off. . .
Ah yes, I had the lasagna.
I hear you on that. Man, I went through a terrible break-up in Summer '99, and the fucking South Park Movie, of all things, was hard to watch. I thought it was going to be a great moment of escapism, and I ended up feeling so bad for Satan. . .
I'm glad someone else mentioned that - it's right on par with "Brilliant Disguise" as far as mature songs about relationships going cold. (And houses.)
Consider the lilies. . .
I actually had a similar moment when listening to "Another Side Of…" I'd always appreciated Dylan, and grew up hearing and believing he was the best songwriter of his generation, but it was somewhere in the middle of hearing that album that I thought, "Holy crap, this guy's great!" After that, I was hooked, and remain…
I always assumed it meant emotion in the songs - you know, there's blood on those tracks, etc.
Wither Sea Change?
Whether or not Trevor Noah is as good as Jon Stewart (and let's face it, Stewart was like Carson, anyone who came after him is going to suffer in the public mind), I absolutely support the decision to take the show in a different direction. It's either do exactly what Stewart did, and be compared unfavorably, or try…
Try the first year or so. It starts to get better when Gore runs for president, and Stewart was always a competent host, but seriously, it's a rough start.
