Here in the cold, pale, greys there are so many sad voices mumbling "I used to have a star... I was nominated for #cotd...". At least we have each other.

Sounds like who you are referring to as a midwife is very different to what we have in the UK, where they are quite highly trained. Bear that in mind when waiting for the midwife defenders. Emergency c-section here. All the pain and exhaustion of 23 hours of active labour, plus bonus 6 week recovery time from c-section. The worst of both worlds frankly.

Australian here, just weighing in to say that I had an emergency c-section with 5 day hospital stay and many many many lactation consultants, plus midwives visiting me at home for two weeks afterwards, and I didn't pay a single cent. I was ridiculously grateful. Plus they referred me to a support group for new mums…

Sorry to say this, but your male friends are jerks. If one of my friends wrote a book I would read it in a heartbeat. In fact, one of my friends self published a completely shithouse book on amazon and I bought in just in support. What sort of books do you write?
