They have been studying car values for 90 years. Is it really inconceivable to you that some data nerds who do nothing but work with car values came up with a formula to predict the value of new cars in 5 years?  Please explain to me why you are so hurt by the concept of this article.

No one said these values are legally binding.  

These aren’t legally binding, they are predictions.
