While there were definitely outlier ports in the PS3/PS4 generation, I think the reason why we’re seeing consistent issues this gen is because of the difference in relative power between console and PC compared to previous generations.

Om the flip side, games like Pentiment probably wouldn’t even exist without Gamepass.
I ended up dedicating an entire months worth of my gaming time just to complete my playthrough of Persona 5 Royal, because I knew I wouldn’t finish it before it left Gamepass otherwise.
Considering that the game was expected to launch on Xbox One and PS4 up until late in development, AND it’s only at 30fps on the newer consoles, AND the high PC Specs fully indicate that this game is not well optimized.
The difference is that Bloodborne runs at a shaky 30fps and it’s only on PS4. Meanwhile Horizon is already playable at 60fps on PC and PS5 through back-compat.
Let's hope that this is similar to when Activision published Sekiro. Aka they basically have 0 involvement
The only logical conclusion is that the game is in such a bad functional state right now that Sony/Microsoft would have outright rejected it on their storefronts
AMD has had multiple opportunities to do this but always ends up pricing their cards barely under Nvidia's prices while having vastly inferior drivers and software
Gamecube version on an emulator provides the best experience, which is sad
Ubisoft clearly had no idea on how to continue the present day stuff after AC3, and it’s only made my experience with the franchise worse since then.
Fuck Zuck
If you haven’t already, now is a great time to play What Remains of Edith Finch.
The only downside is that not all App Store programs are built equal, Pop!_OS’s for example often has outdated versions of applications on their storefront and I often end up installing most things manually because of it.
I'd rather pay less than $20 a month to not have mobile games I'm never going to touch. I can play these games on so many other devices
Yep, I don’t see how having Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is considered a win when basically any Ubisoft game is under $30 just a couple months after launch, and this was a 2020 release. 99% of the people that wanted to play it have bought it by now
Agree with all of your points. Sony also desperately needs to improve the emulation on PS1, PS2, and add PS3 emulation.
I’m not saying that they should update the PS4 version alongside the PS5 version, that doesn’t make sense for them.
Accessibility features are great and I’m glad more people can enjoy this game now.
There’s a good chance that they’re remaking the game due to the large amount of staff they have now.
Supposedly they're working on a Splinter Cell Remake, but given how poorly the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake has been going I'm not holding out a ton of hope for it
