This is more than just an inconvenient change to a franchise that people have grown up with, this is about the loss of cultural identity. Nintendo, admittedly, isn’t solely responsible for that loss but it certainly is helping it along.

Its the part where their switching the official name to mandarin (mainland China) instead of cantonese (Hong Kong). Hong Kong and China have a little bit of a dispute going on. (Hong Kong wants to stay independent while China says that Hong Kong is still part of China)

Talk about missing the point. They don’t care about relearning the names. They care that to them it’s Nintendo helping speed along the erasure of their native language and culture as Chinese culture and language is forcibly replacing theirs.
