See. I think he had a list of epithets he knew he wanted in there and the circling was his way of checking the content.
I like hearing the anthem. To me, it’s a nice reminder that I’m lucky to be an American and the luxury of a sporting event is a result of a lot of other people’s work. It’s humbling.
I had no idea such things existed! To the interwebs!
Right? My 3.5 year old is getting some masks, bath toys and a tooth brush.
Holy shit. It all makes sense now. Big Trophy totally started the participation award movement.
Agreed. We’re very clear about our lines of demarcation at our company and don’t feed them that line of bs. Whenever I interview someone I’m crystal clear about our company’s nepotism. “This is a family business. My parents started this company from scratch and put in 25 years of work to get it where it is now. My…
I’ll take that bet.
I’m a child of nepotism. My brother and I currently run the company my father started 25 years ago (small biz, 27 employees, not a ground breaking industry). We both recognize our luck but tend to use it as motivation. We work twice as hard as any of our employees so we don’t look like hypocritical, spoiled…
“So yeah, his salary might say $400K or something like that, but there’s a high probability he only actually gets a fraction of that because most of it isn’t guaranteed.”
I’ve found that it’s not even rationalization. I’ve found that the majority of whites who voted for him don’t even consider his actions/words racist.
I’m a moron who can’t pick up nuance.
Just so we’re clear, this movie is an act of injustice?
For me, it’s two different issues: I don’t want my kids to be racists. I also don’t want my children’s text messages to be part of public discourse.
Why don’t you go ahead and take the day off? Whatever you do today is not going to get much better than that gif.
Who said anything about a slippery slope? We both agree that some people have way too much and others don’t have enough and I’m proposing a solution.
It’s fucking Seattle man. We love pretension. Also, there’s far more long term fans than there are short term fans. I feel like you’d know this if you grew up here, which makes me wonder if you’re a transplant.
I don’t understand if you’re fine with uneven outcomes, why are you trying to mess with the results?
It’s a little more nuanced than that, but yes, that’s basically it. You’re going to be hard pressed to convince a lot of people that the status quo is anything but a fair result of a less than perfect system.
It’s also a lot easier to assume that if we just gave them money that everything would be better for everyone.
