I remember when it was still Gaim v 0.x.x and someone made a fork specifically to add video chat to Gaim. The fork was supposedly being absorbed into the main release but that hasn't been completed until now, apparently. That was like 5 years ago.
I don't really see the advantage of having a dedicated media server over something more basic like a NAS device. I'm curious as to what they would aim for with the tablet. A multi-touch device that relies on an on-screen keyboard? Most likely. Which means you can kiss handwriting goodbye unless they've developed a hybrid system. Either way, handwriting support is piss-awful in OS X. Watch and cringe:
