They’re pretty used to it. A Native who isn’t pessimistic about the government is not a very smart person.

The argument about not wanting the government to have a say in your treatment always strikes me as really weird since the alternative is an insurance company having a say instead. I’d prefer the government, thank you. They aren’t going to refuse you treatment in order to ensure the CEO can afford a new yatch. And of…
Good. Let’s talk about Justin Beiber.
I’ve often wondered if it’s people getting more conservative, or if the line that determines “liberal” and “conservative” (as broad and fuzzy as it is) just moves.
I always thought (R) voters were the single issue types with regards to gun control or more accurately, prevention of such.
I’m curious... you seem to have done the math when it comes to your monthly average.. but what about when you get sick? Do you still pay nothing? If so then you have an amazingly good (and rare) insurance plan. That’s the other part of single payer- no deductible. No co- pay or whatever else, no limit as to your…
You know how the US spends more than any nation on the planet per capita on health care? Including almost double that of the #2 highest spender? Do you know why they all spend so much less? Single Payer. Your insurance companies inflate the costs of health care by a huge degree that simply isn’t possible when single…
What if I told you that your taxes would go up, but you wouldn’t have to pay for health insurance? The US would have to screw up insanely badly for it to not result in a net gain for you. I pay less in all my taxes combined than my friend from Tennesee does for just his health insurance.
When he claims his name is Donald Trump, I believe that’s true and accurate. Everything else? Well...
The argument seems to be “saying bad things is bad”. There’s no understanding of the difference between saying bad things about people in response to those people’s bad actions and saying bad things about people in response to their skin colour. You would think it obvious, but some people seem to put effort into being…
Hey, if Trump voters had a problem with blatant conflicts of interest, they wouldn’t be Trump voters. Tricky to be a GOP voter at all, for that matter.
Cushy nothing position practically tailor- made for nepotism appointments? Easy to fill. Harder to fill the ones people actually care about.
More accurately, reporters often misrepresent the results of research to generate headlines. I’ve seen a few cases where tge researcher quickly goes on record as denying their research concludes anything like the headline.
That depends. One piece of information that’s missing is how long these sentences are to begin with. 15 years vs 15 years and 3 months is minor. 3 months vs 6 months is a very different story.
I don’t think she has the slightest comprehension of what work actually is. Washing the dishes would break her.

Nah, much grosser, on purpose. Dan Savage is wonderful, if only for this one thing.
I dunno, this is the “small government” crowd. They’ll spin it as “well, if only we’d had a private firm doing this instead of the government! vote for me and we’ll get rid of the Health and Human Services dept!”
If you fail to make your point clearly- and you did- then you shouln’t get so upset about people not understanding your point. 95% of the time when someone brings up one of the (rare) cases where an armed civilian stopped a shooter, they are advocating for more armed citizens. If you aren’t doing this, then why even…
When you believe guns magically protect you from harm, as many seem to, suggesting it’s safer without guns seems insane.
