I have to admit that I haven't seen it, and that there's a distinct possibility that if I saw what the execs at SyFy saw, I would say "yeah, it's not really that good". But, there are still two things I find telling:

I've enjoyed J.J.'s stuff (for the most part), but seriously? He just pulled the "Well you do it better than" argument? It's a non-argument at best, and poor excuses for not doing your best at worst. Because remember, if you don't have a better idea, you'd best not have an opinion about it.

In defense of all those who say "the aliens at the end" (I having been one at one time), doesn't it say something about the end of the film that so many people come to that assumption? Either there are a ton of dumb people (granted) or it just wasn't explained that well.

Agreed on Fargo. It was cool to see Fargo do something on his own, without help from Stark or someone else to push him along. He's felt the like the intern for a long time now. But it was still Fargo, because he got into the mess by pressing lots of buttons.

TV shows is where it hits me. If I want a recent movie, I can stop by a Redbox (or maybe find it at my public library), but my wife and I just started in on Psych season 5 (not yet on streaming) and we still have to catch up on Burn Notice season 3 (all of which has never hit streaming). On point 3, I thought the same thing when I first saw him. But then I heard him talk about not really going on vacation with all the editing/location scouting/shooting/etc. that he has to do and I felt bad for him. I also enjoyed Knight and Day. I enjoy any film that involves enough of a mix of action and romance that my wife can I enjoy it together. Neither of us took it too seriously, and we liked it.

BBCA has Doctor Who and Top Gear. They can pretty much program whatever else they want after that I think.

I don't think the point of the Clicker app is scheduling. It's more about putting together a playlist of everything you like to watch, allowing you to get notifications of when shows go online.
