Ine had purchased a 1984 380SL and the Rube Goldberg throttle linkage needed all of the little plastic balls replaced, as they had worn and you couldn’t get more than half throttle with all of the play in the system. I clutched my wallet and headed to the MB dealer in Anchorage, ready to be told they don’t make them

completely untouched but with added rust from neglect.

A decent VertaVette for that price? Yeah that’s a NP. We paid that much for a DHC Mustang GT a few years back and that’s the price that gets the wind in your hair and a V8 in your ears. And for the record I own neither jorts or white sneakers and never hit the early bird at any of our local eateries.

I had a Beezer that made me swear twice on the day I decided to sell it. Once when the exhaust pipe vibrated off and once again when I picked it up.

I haven’t seen one of these in a dog’s age, and can’t imagine paying anywhere near that price unless it’s in Zimbabwe dollars. ND at all.

at least the dealer had said “we can try this first”

to phrase it that way took a great deal of tact

Could be the mount.

Just wait until Temu starts clogging the local mailboxes with unsold EV’s.

I have always wondered why these midding squirrel powered bread boxes, mediocre in every category, are revered so highly by some in the country. I don’t see it. People outside that bubble don’t see it. It’s a 22 year mini van that’s been driven into the dirt. No. Absolutely no.

There’s a woman out there in autoland who has spent more than that on interest for a Tahoe. If this one doesn’t have you shaking the couch cushions for some spare coins you probably don’t actually care about cars and should go back to the review section of Consumer Reports. NP.

I was thinking this was a competitive offering right up to the price. For that kind of money I’ll find a Defender which is the new LC’s spirit animal anyways.  You could also order a helluva Bronco for that money and the top comes off.

Tech jobs in the 907 sometimes take you to remote villages way off the pizza delivery grid and flying around in bush planes can be less than excellent.

Not a bad deal at all, even when gas goes up the low buy in will make up for it. Looks like highway miles, all clean, if you need the big beastie this is a NP.

Alfa was pulling out of the North American market”

The seller told SWMBO when they bought the car for too much money that it was not only transportation but an investment...and now they want to cash out.  Now there may be an investmant class E39 but this one is driver class and not even the Portland tax gets it to $15K.

I can see the wraparound windshield was a 50's element and the interior is early 60's space race, but the rest of the proportions are so far out of whack I can’t believe they committed it to metal and CF. It would have worked better as an exuberant pickup truck. Or maybe a full wagon.

He bought them used. Got a helluva deal on them, couple years old and a bit over half the price of new.

Actual wealthy people don’t have anything to prove by showing off cars they can’t afford.
