and then have to charge twice as often because of your extra weight. So there’s another lunch.

“well you still have to pee” say the electric guys.
exactly this. And I can eat, pee, get more coffee, gas up and be back on the road in way less than half an hour.
I owned a early 2000's Yamaha FZ1 that had something like 140ish HP. While it was fun caning the throttle and watching the needle go over the ton in a mad rush, the downside was that the horizon would approach at an unreasonable rate, I found the power was so easy to access and so plentiful that it was a lot of work…
In Alaska we were early adopters of the Suburu, the combination of 4 wheel drive and decent fuel economy was irresistible. The Brat was able to do most of what pickup could do at easily double the fuel economy, and at 70 cents a gallon that added up quickly. Ands as an added bonus, being lighter the scoobys were less…
Kroil is amazing stuff. I saved a XL350 that had the piston oxide welded to the bore and the carb slide similarly welded into the carb body. Soaked them both in Kroil and the piston rings came loose and were usable. If Kroil won’t free it probably nothing will
All you CP’rs will be mighty chapped when these cross the Mecum stage 20 years from now at 5 times the price, and all that time you could take it out for an entertaining Sunday drive.
The first Gladiator I saw in the wild was optioned up to $62K. How many others went in when they first launched, had a hearty guffaw at the price and decided they weren’t going to be able to afford it and moved on? I’m sure I’m not the only one with the perception of the Gladiator as a $62K vehicle and not going to…
Classics are vengeful beasts after all.
What
I saw Chevy dealers in Canada offering 84 month financing. so it's not just us with poor financial skills.
And don’t take I-5 to do iit,, the PCH is one of the reasons the automobile should exist.
I have often wondered what would happen to the economy if people stopped making stupid to insane financial decisions. Cuz let’s face it, a lot of folks are spending too much money they don’t have and if that demand suddenly dried up entire lending industries would be facing a crisis
I know a (stupid) woman who did pay almost $2000 for brakes all around on a Hyundai SUV. Such a quote is plausible but it’s also good to shop around. She went with that quote because the shop would accept payments.
i’m not talking about 4x4, I’m talking about leaving the hubs locked so 4x4 is available...my old Scout had auto locking hubs. That was the way to go
NP for a solid 4x4 that seems almost compact given the dimensions of SUV’s these days.
Neutral: I like what I have now, and it’s reliable, safe, and much cheaper than it would cost to replace it. No car payments is a great place to be.
the boat analogy works too, you get it on step and the engine churns away at it’s relatively most efficient RPM. I think we got around 26 in our rental, but it did get you around and as an added bonus ypu’ve been through purgatory!
My heavens the one we rented was unspeakably awful. It was an experience much like the poverty spec penalty box economy cars the Big 3 built to punish you for not buying the larger more profitable model. No power, a CVT like a snowmachine and as the final insult, the mouse fur was made of some static indusing material…
Except if I got a winning lottery ticket I’m going somewhere else besides Nissan.
