As someone said, adjusting for the effects of climate change will certainly involve adaption, mitigation, and suffering. We had a point where we could choose what would be the focus of our path forward, and we chose suffering.

That’s why insurance companies can save us. Swiss Re DAGF what Ron deSantis thinks and if he tries to tells an insurance company that they can’t take climate change into account when writing policies or setting rates, they won’t even fight him. They will just stop doing business in Florida. HamNo wrote a pretty good

It’s honestly insane big business doesn’t (actually) care more about climate change considering how much money it’s going to cost. Though since everything’s so short term now you just worry about your stock prices tomorrow, not whether the company can survive in the next 2-5 years or 10 years. Of course you’ve got

Growing up hearing about hurricanes in Florida, tornados across the plains, and wildfires in Colorado and California, I always assumed people would take hints and not live in these places that have excessive risk. But nope. A hurricane blows down a neighborhood and they rebuild it, only to get blown down again.

I do feel like the insurance industry is pushing this narrative to justify withdrawing from all but the most profitable markets.

But but but Pudding Fingers Ron DeathScentence deleted the mention of Climate Change in Florida (at the gubbimental level)!!! That means the insurance companies will come back... right? RIGHT??!?? RIGHT????!?!!!!!?

Did he try parking it in rice overnight?

Must stink to own a 100k penis substitute, when you can’t even wash it.

It’s almost like industry self regulation doesn’t actually produce the best results!

I still find it funny that people insist on calling anything Trump does a “business venture” when it’s been made clear they were all criminal operations to facilitate massive financial fraud this whole time.

I assume "Content that had been cancelled" includes "Firefly" and "Terminator, the Sarah Connor Chronicles."

Surely, this will continue to work out as well as all of Trump’s other business ventures.

I don’t know if it makes the comparison any more meaningful, but I took that to mean that carbon emissions in America from just homes, was double the total carbon emissions of France, which would include homes, manufacturing, travel, everything. Per capita, it looks like we produce three times the emissions of France,

It has changed. There are no legal private militias in America, so the- A well regulate Militia.... part of the amendment no longer matters.

According to this case, the front of your home is not private at all.

If it wasn’t for bad-faith justifications, reactionaries wouldn’t have any justifications at all. They’d have to admit that it’s just about their power.

Alternatively: none of them should, because it gives easy leeway to alter the First.

So the Fourth Amendment has to change with the times and technology but the Second Amendment doesn’t.  Got it.
