I wish this fucking meme of a fallacy would die already. Aside from raw materials, the money spent on space exploration isn’t getting pissed off into the cosmos. It’s going right back into the economy on earth. More importantly, advancement in spaceflight has brought us more new technologies on earth than I can count.
I feel exactly the opposite. Why do I want an EV to have the same proportions as an ICE car? Batteries create all kinds of packaging benefits and this (and the Merc that came out last week) waste that opportunity. The iPace gives genuine packaging benefits, this is just a very quiet Q5.
Sadly, it is too late for the Earth. Everything currently living here is doomed. That’s why the 1%ers are trying to get out and start fresh on another planet (Mars) while they still can.
