I don’t really understand the point of carpet in a lot of cars to begin with. Especially cheap cars like a Mirage or Spark or even some Mini Vans. Most people do not really take care of their cars to begin with and carpet is just a magnet for stains and odors.

Hell yeah that is right. I come from a family of Puerto Ricans and we like to go mudding and will absolutely define ourselves as rednecks during that time.

That sounds like my morning commute as well. Not as much congestion as Chicago through the day but the rush hours can be quite annoying.

These Mirages are getting quite cheap on the used car market. $5,500 bucks with only 65,000 miles. Mitsubishi’s warranty will transfer to a new owner as well so at least he will not be stuck with any major repair bills.

Damn right. All it takes is hitting one of them for me to learn my lesson. On some of our Cleveland roads it looks like I am driving a slalom course.

I get up to 85+ in a 2015 Mirage almost daily if there is not traffic to contend with. On a well-maintained flat road in Texas I would max out that thing all the time. 

I was not talking about the cost that is passed on to the customer. I am referring to the cost that the manufacturers are saving on advertising that they do not pay for.

That is an excellent point. I can see the ones that have a blank plate becoming the truly collectible Demon now that you mention that.

I never thought about it that way. Local dealers do a lot of advertising for their brands as well so that is another cost savings, along with medical benefits for employees, maintenance of dealers and so on. It works for Tesla now because they are small but once they are hundreds of thousands of cars, it may be easier…

You will be tapping a lot of things with that amount of lube.

Just from memory I knew that it was an automatic and that the tires in the back were bigger than the front with raised white letters. I know that it had the 401 because of the little red white and blue 401 on the front fenders. I also remember sliding all over the place when driving in it because my dad was a clean…

My brother and I loved it. We used to want to be in it all the time. My mom had a 1979 Honda Civic CVCC and was not paying attention and rear ended the Javelin (at a very low speed maybe 20 mph) and the poor Civic was smashed. The Javelin maybe had a scrape on the back bumper.

I don’t remember it not being reliable, I think it was more that it was not as fast as it looked.

My dad had that car in purple when I was a kid. We used to love that thing. I remember my dad saying that it was not as good as it looked.

Hopefully you do not have a dog. My dog loves exploring and we make it a point to take her hiking in all kids of locations. Next summer we will be taking her on a trip across the country to camp, hike and swim in the ocean. I feel sorry for any dog that is trapped in a yard its whole life.

I would do the same thing. Only someone who does not truly love cars would not understand.

This is the exact reason why you wanted a turbo. I do not want a turbocharged car to masquerade as a naturally aspirated one. It totally defeats the purpose and ruins the fun of a turbo.
