When it became obvious that a no deal was more likely, the EU ramped up their preperations last spring. The extension was really to either: remove mays redlines, revoke article 50, or crash out as there wouldn’t be enough time for a new referendum. the EU as since ramped up preperations they began planning for 2 years…

I think it is a fallacy to take it as an either/or situation when a hard brexit satisfies elements of both.

other options are solar hot water heaters.
