Nissan, Hyundai, GM and Tesla have projects using ‘old” batteries at 50% to reduce demand spikes on grids. 

problem is where do you get the hydrogen from. Currently the cheapest is natural gas which isn’t super cheap or enviromentally friendly. Or you use electricity, and if your using large amounts of electricity, why not just use/store that.
