Good lord, Mitsubishi is currently so embarrassing that I’m kind of glad mine is badged as a Dodge

Here’s one up in BC. Not the year you’re looking for, but it’s an S, and supposedly only has 88k kms on it.

I still want to see a diesel-electric semi, similar to a locomotive. Seems like a better fit for off-highway and long haul.

That is indeed a good feeling. I, and multiple other cars were tailgated and cut off by an extremely aggressive bro in a fairly new red Audi TT, as he swerved through heavy traffic. Less than 5 minutes down the highway, and there he was, pulled over and sulking as an officer was writing him a ticket.

Not quite, they also had the DOHC modular out of the Mach 1, if wikipedia is correct.

Applebee’s sounds a lot like Denny’s.

I have no real problem with the first gen of fwd Monte Carlos. But the second gen, my god are they ugly. I’ve always thought they had to be trying to make it as ugly as possible.

I should check and see if I have applecare, I can’t remember if I do....it does seems quite young for the battery to be tanking already. It’s not like it happens all the time, but in the past few months it’s happened at least 3 times.

My year old 6S already randomly shuts down from time to time, so I’ll take my chances as the battery ages, instead of slowing it down.

Damage to front and rear bumpers, cracked windshield, 290k kms or so, running rough, needed front brakes. There’s also always a ton of them for sale, so even the cleanest ones can’t ask too much.

For my most of the way across Canada trip, I got a 97 Blazer for $600, gave it a tune up, brakes, and a roof box. The fuel economy on the highway isn’t terrible, I got about 600-650km per tank, and even though nothing went wrong with it, if something were to break in the middle of Manitoba, there would be parts

My local 4WD association has a strong focus on responsibility and cleaning/maintaining recreation areas. Leave areas better than you found it when you camp there sorta deal. They have multiple areas they regularly maintain, as well as members with dump trucks who frequently go to popular illegal dumping grounds and do

That’s just about the exact opposite of what I want a Defender to be. Also that interior gives me a headache. Gorgeous photos though.

That’s just, like, your opinion, man.

Mexican Stunt Bullitt sounds like an amazing name for a band, or a drink, or something.

You’re completely right. I think when cyclists do it, it registers differently for me because they’re so much more vulnerable. It baffles me in general when pedestrians or cyclists play chicken with something that could kill them if they or the car aren’t paying enough attention.

Fair enough, though I said many, not all, I’ll stand by that.

I’m not really standing for anything, just trying to explain a dumb comment I made that some people are taking a lot more seriously than I did.

“Perhaps it hasn’t occurred to you”

Yes, I just saw an opportunity to make a comment about cyclists in general, but it really does look like I’m blaming the cyclist in the situation described in the article, so not a great call on my part.
