Who gets to decide what qualifies as “imminent harm”?
Pretty sure anything that would be considered such by a reasonable person already would have been illegal. The only shame here needs to be found by the politicians who pushed this massive dog whistle and I just hope no one is killed by someone who thinks they heard

Honest question, has any of the people here saying “they shouldn’t be protesting in the streets blocking me from where I’m going!” ever been prevented from getting to a destination you needed to get to because of a protest blocking a street? I’m going to guess it’s a very small number.

Tesla is an amazing story and has done a lot of good in bringing EVs into the mainstream, likely forcing the hand of the legacy automakers to fully commit a decade or more earlier than they would have done on their own. That’s a good thing.
People have died because of how Tesla has chosen to name and market a

I personally have zero interest in a project car, but for someone looking for a project car, this would seem to be an easy NP.

It’s like a 80% finished puzzle. Too complete for someone who likes doing puzzles, but not complete enough for someone who just wants to see the picture. Oh, it also doesn’t help that a bunch of pieces are jammed in the wrong place and others taped together. The streak of ND continues.

Are we trying for a record number of No Dices in a row or something? Seems like everything for the past week hasn’t even been particularly close.

I guess to have electric cars truly normalized, we need to have batshit examples that no one in their right mind should actually drive (just like ICE vehicles).
Still hate the styling of Hummers, still will make preconceived assumptions about anyone behind the wheel of one (sorry), and still a massive waste of

I really think the answer here is a premium EV. If not the Model X, then the Taycan 4S. Personally, I would build an absolute top of the top of the line Polestar 2 and enjoy all the monies leftover.

Done arguing the point, but I will just point out that new houses do certainly have a set price. (and just as an FYI, I’m only referring to new car dealerships in all of this. The used market is always going to have negotiated pricing)

Never said it was stressful torture for me. I’m a white male in a society that treats people in large part based on their chromosome pairs and the amount of melatonin in their skin for some reason, so I don’t tend to have many problems. I’m also going to take a wild guess that you are the same.
But fine, let’s go

For you to get the privilege of feeling like you won a negotiation, there are going to many others pressured into worse deals because of an outdated, broken system. A car is a requirement of life for most and it’s the only consumer good out there where if you don’t subject yourself to something most find to be a

Agreed, let’s maintain a system that hurts nearly all consumers, particularly anyone non-white and male, because it allows you to feel like you have “a pair” when assistant manager Joe knocked $200 off the undercoating for you.

So it’s undoubtedly true that the BMW was driving like an asshat and nearly caused an accident. It’s also undoubtedly true that a human driver paying attention would have handled the situation better (of course not every driver out there is paying attention). Did the (horribly misnamed) Autopilot prevent an accident?

Although that dynamic is, in a way, “celebrating” the history between indigenous peoples and those who have just taken whatever they wanted from them.

“I had a brief experience working for one tribe once, so I am now able to speak for the motives and intentions of all Native American tribes in all situations.”
There, made that a bit shorter for you.

They paid millions for ad spots. Those don’t get refunded just because you don’t want to show the ad anymore. Not to mention production costs.

Except they aren’t asking for money. They are a recognized people who don’t feel honored or celebrated by a Euro-American conglomerate using their name to profit so they are simply asking them to stop. That’s all.

The driver assistance functions (certainly NOT “autopilot”) of my car have done better than this several times to keep me safe on LA freeways. Certainly never felt the need to tweet about them.

Love the look of it, but I’m not going to buy a new minivan that isn’t at least a plug-in hybrid if not fully electric.
