Just my opinion, but dollar for dollar, the Kia Niro EV is simply better (especially since you can actually get them sub-40k and also still get the tax credit). All the daily driving range needed, great warranty and build quality, plus an actual interior instead of a tablet.

Pretty sure if I tore apart my (much cheaper) Niro EV, I wouldn’t find any chunks of Home Depot molding. Of course, I don’t have any need to tear apart my Niro  because it doesn’t have any massive panel gap issues, so who knows whats in there.

Didn’t see anyone calling you a racist, but I’d be willing to go with sexist. Think about it, would you have honestly posted any of this crap over the past 24 hours if VW had used a 16 year old boy as the driver? Your repeated (and yes they were repeated) attacks of “tokenism” suggest you wouldn’t have. Sorry if I

....so every company should be required to complete rigorous trials to select only the best of the best of the best of a particular skill to complete a fun marketing event? Personally, I think it’s fine that they used someone with world class skills AND an interesting backstory. Call that crass marketing on VW’s part

She’s a world class kart driver, a series that produced Jeff Gordon and many other championship drivers. Let’s see how you would do against this “token”.

So what changed in the last photo? I couldn’t see it...

Oh, off topic, but let me share this picture of me and my family at the beach!

Took the most significant drive I’ve done in two weeks this evening, down the 5 through LA at about 5pm. At least a dozen times, douchebags were flying past at 100mph+, weaving in and out of the fairly light traffic. Now that’s not an unusual scene, but usually only late at night, not during the typical worst traffic

Just wrote a comment about the Ray. Had one in Korea. Hands down the most functional, useful little car I’ve ever had.

Still probably the best car I’ve ever owned is the Kia Ray I had back in Korea. New off the line the first year they were available over there. Boxy city car, but the rear sliding door meant the whole thing opened up wide, making getting twin car seats in and out easier than any other vehicle I can think of. Fold the

Considering that I’ll believe a $39k Model Y when I see them delivered, I’m still perfectly fine with my decision to save ten grand+ and get a Niro EV with its ~250 miles of range.

Instead of getting this truck that’s crappily impersonating a muscle car (or muscle car that crappily impersonates a truck), why not get whichever one of those you actually want and have a much better experience?

I also don’t think it would be THAT difficult to add situational context to these systems (if they haven’t done so already). Adding historic traffic data including average travel speeds (already used daily by Google Maps and the like) would give the system another point of reference over how fast it SHOULD be going.

Look, if you’re hauling a trailer 500 miles once a week, don’t buy a BEV as the vehicle to do it. If it’s something you may do every once and while, know that there are BEV options that can handle it if you’re willing to add the couple hours extra in charging time. I’ll take the daily driving experience of a BEV with

Huh, just another reason to be happy to have gone electric.

Around my area of suburban LA, I see Gladiators exclusively driven by dudes who decided lifted G-wagons just weren’t douchey enough to blast down neighborhood streets in.

Just like a certain slice of American gear heads love JDM imports, people in other countries want cars you can only (or more easily) get here.

...are you sure you didn’t get hammered one night back in 2008, build that site, and then forget about it?

So basically the any software features could be disabled by Tesla when they are resold on the used market because the new owner “didn’t pay for it”. So naturally, if someone has an older Tesla with software features and they change to a new Telsa, those features will be enabled in the new vehicle at no additional cost

Unless a legitimate fully electric minivan is available by then, we’ll likely be getting into the plug-in hybrid Pacifica at some point in the next couple of years. This one looks great, so I’m happy to see that.

Worked for a month in Mumbai where a private chauffeur would pick me up at the hotel every morning and take me to the office. I wasn’t anyone special, but that is the only conceivable way for foreign companies to get visiting people to the offices over there. Over 60 trips and I could not tell you what the driven
