At 5'10" I was very cramped in the back of the Kona, but I would have survived for a bit. In the Niro, my 6'2" brother had no issues on a long drive.
Rear storage is also much better in the Niro. Both are great, but the Niro makes more sense as a family vehicle IMO.

I’m right with you on the apps. I probably could get rid of all but two, but hate the idea of not having one if I need it (even with small odds of that).

At the end of the day, it’s not really a $40k car. It’s a $26k car with over $12k of battery tech in it. Compare it to any other car in the $26k range and you’re getting a lot in terms of tech and comfort (just like a decent trim ICE Niro), plus the Kia warranty. For the $12k of battery, most will get ~$10k in

If you ever feel like hauling more than 2 people though, the Niro is much better.

Canada applies their incentives at the point of sale, so the prices displayed on the website are including it, which makes it pretty much identical to the US MSRP.

Hyundai/Kia have a battery shortage for the next year plus, so they are only selling these in known profitable EV markets.

I do ~30 miles a day highway at 65-70mph with a bit of stop and go LA traffic mixed in. I get around 3.7 miles per kWh if I’m not intentionally eco-driving. That’s right around the stated EPA number, which actually involves less highway miles than I do.

Niro EVs are selling essentially at sticker, with tax incentives getting you down around 30k-ish as you said.

My Niro EV is my first experience with a touchscreen infotainment system and I found it easy to understand and intuitive with seamless CarPlay integration.

The 2020 Soul EV shares the same mechanics. The older ones don’t.

I absolutely LOVE my Niro EV and think this review is selling it just a bit short. Not mentioned, it is by far the most family practical “entry level” EV out there. Comfortable sitting for every passenger plus more rear cargo space than most gas crossovers (this alone is the main reason to by it over the almost

I want to see all high level motorsports go electric. Push both technological advancement and normalization.

What does the car do if you input the good ol’ Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start?

If you are going to put out a luxury EV for $80k, it has to get better range than the 204 miles the e-tron offers. My Kia Niro EV is half the price, pretty much just as much gadgetry, and ~40 more miles of range.

Our top-trim 2007 Kia Sedona minivan had a tape deck. At this moment it’s the latest model year that I’ve still seen one.

Literally JUST saw one of these driving down the street. Mildly nice change of pace from all the G-Wagons around here, but still don’t see how you can pull off driving down Brand in one of these without looking like a complete douche.

There is a absolutely perfect Starion street-parked on my morning walking route. If it happened to have a for sale sign one day, I would probably wind up in a lot of trouble.

“when they came out they were the last in a long line of cars to feature the reverse-opening doors”
Just to be pedantic, but didn’t the four-door Thunderbird actually later model years with these doors than the Continental?

Welcome to Johnny Cab. Please state your destination.

I don’t blame the seller for putting out the crazy number considering all the attention to what old Supras have sold for, but this one is not those (and even those are super crack pipes to me).
