Somehow, none of my total hatred of Phelps spills over onto Lochte. Phelps comes off as an entitled ass who is desperately trying to hold onto the glory and the spotlight. Lochte comes off as a ridiculous golden retriever puppy dog who you may occasionally want to bop on the nose, but who you can’t stay mad at.

after Phelps got 2nd could he have said yeah that sucked but um Simone made history tonight....... this is why i think this PR campaign of his will go down in a blaze of glory. Any athlete would recognize this before their own nars especially after they just got 2nd. Good luck to his eventual wife

I think she had a back injury a couple of years ago and hasn't really been the same since. She did swim the 200 free in the heats and semifinals here, but didn't make it to the finals.

I get this is probably an unpopular opinion on here but with Phelps wife and kid being constantly shoved down our throats and this sanctimonious teen and her “I’m clean... you’re not” I’m starting to hearken back to the Atttitude era on WWE where you consistently root for the Heel. Go Russia? I guess.

I went to Michigan when michael phelps was there. Guy is a fucking asshole. But he’s also a super good swimmer who makes more in a year than I probably will in my life, so he doesn’t give two shits that people like me think he’s an asshole.

Several of the best teams in the country are in the NOVA/DC/Baltimore area: NBAC, Nation’s Capitol (formerly Curl-Burke), Rockville-Montgomery.... It’s been a hotbed of swimming talent since the 50s at least.

When I see celebs who are like “there are more important things to talk about,” I wonder if they actually really want that (ETA: I mean, obviously they don’t or their social media would be full of deep thoughts to begin with). Chase is a friend of my friend’s husband. He was at their wedding a while back aaaand rumor around the room was him selling prescription drugs in the bathroom. Cannot confirm, but I have never got a good vibe from him.

I was shocked when this first happened but the more I think about it, the more it makes sense. They are both the human equivalent of unsalted butter and they are perfect for each other.
