So the 302 HP engine that’s going into this is only being made available with an 8-speed automatic in FWD based BMW’s (M235i gran coupe, X2 M35i, global markets M135i, etc), I wonder if that will be the case here.

Yup, I get in and put a knee into the kids’ seats, then snug up the belt while my weight is pushing it down.   NOW!  It does SUUUUCK to try to remove it afterwards, but at least it’s tight enough.

As a kid, we only ever had Velveeta Shells & Cheese in the house, and it was sort of a revelation when I went to college and discovered the powered stuff.  Now I serve my kids both kinds, but I will always prefer the Velveeta.   Sucks that you can buy three blue-box for the price of one VS&C.
