It’s the consistency of application of rules that’s the real issue. YouTube lets tens of thousands of F bombs slide every day, but then randomly decides these ones are beyond the pale. If YouTube consistently age restricted F bombs we wouldn’t be having a discussion at all.
And yet, a few minutes ago I just watched the official gameplay trailer for the Dead Space remake on Youtube without any kind of age / content warning, which holds nothing back in terms of violence, gore, and dismemberment, and quickly reminded me that, holy shit, that game had some messed up shit in it. But that’s…
Maybe they should ask the folks who manage to trick the algorithm into putting their stuff on Youtube Kids where I’ve seen some pretty horrific shit.
The video player on Youtube is insanely better than the Twitch one, and the split is 70/30 for creator, but the issue is that Youtube is not there yet as a streaming platform. Discoverability sucks and chat functionalities are not on par yet (but getting there). Probably some other things too. But yeah, give it like a…
Okay, but the difference is nobody at those stores was expected to be keeping an eye on you and the place your parents actually left you at was an arcade, a place that’s explicitly designed for people to hang out at for more than the duration of a shopping trip.
I’m old enough to remember my parents giving me $5 and a Coke, and leaving me at Aladdin’s Castle while they did their thing at Dillard’s, or whatever. If I ran out of tokens I’d hit KB Toys. Last ditch was the record store or Sears, in case they had a video game demo station set up. They knew where to find me. Of…
...or you could ignore all of it, just focus on the main story quests, and finish the game in like 15-20 hours. Or literally any combination of the two. Play it how you want, and at your own speed.
I’ve been constantly struggling with not wanting to rush but also wanting to see what’s next. I spent a while in the first area but the other areas I’ve gone a bit faster through (but not completely rushing). I figure I can just come back later and work on my Pokedex at my own pace once I’ve beaten the game.
Yeah I've seen people get to level 40+ before even getting out of the area. In contrast I've been running through it so I can go back with better tools for easier catching.
Man to the dude who was 40 hours in and still hadn’t crossed the bridge: why and how?? He’s not even limiting himself to the starting area. He’s in the starting area’s starting area. Jesus.
I’m in the fourth area and fell down the rabbit hole of filling out the dex, it’s fun but boy oh boy do I wish mons like Cherrim and Happiny and Munchlax weren’t such a pain to farm (you can’t just catch one, getting the full entry requires multiple encounters).
The Gran Turismo articles are over at Jalopnik, so I guess Kotaku didn’t want to step on their automotive sister site’s toes. Oddly, I thought this was a Jalopnik article at first, since it is on their front page.
It’s like, these fucking people....do they think workers are unionising for fun? For a laugh? The history of unionisation is that it comes about when conditions for workers SUCK SO BADLY that they feel they have no other choice.
This dude is absolutely taking advantage of children in front of god and the entire organization and honestly, I gotta respect that. I blame Cyllene for allowing this to continue next to her office, I KNOW she can hear his bullshit.
The sting with pachinko specifically is that gambling in Japan is technically illegal.
Kind of hard to feel sorry about this honestly. Im not some puritan, and gambling can be a lot of fun from time to time. Went to Vegas for a friend’s bachelor party pre-covid and had the time of my life.
But Pachinko, Slot machines, “Video Gaming” are developed entirely around appealing to and drawing in the most…
Uh oh, I hope this doesn’t force Konami back to making games
I wonder if these same people flock to reddit every time the hear a Wilhelm scream.
