Smurfing was a real issue in Overwatch 1, at all levels of the game. I think the SMS requirement at launch was implemented unfairly, but if the new version reaches pre-paid phones that should be sufficient. Something has to be done-- we need a real solution to combat bots, smurfs, and hackers... unsure if this is the

I am glad they tried to add another axis to their gaming repertoire, but I agree— too many times I was left guessing where to go. I also appreciated the minimalism and art-first style of gameplay... but it also made it tougher to play. Idk. Everyone is a critic lol

Ditto. My other personal fav is making very large guns into very small guns.

I remember reading a Forbes article that detailed that the Wii was the last console to be sold for a profit. These consoles are just tickets into the real moneymaker— software and services. This is true for nearly all consumer entertainment devices. Get the customer into the ecosystem and then offer them additional

I’m in the camp that says: let the designers create the game in the image of their choosing. Criticism is fine but I am sooo done with the internet (especially Gamers) demanding how their Art-Entertainment be served to them.

You get the same narrative experience but not the same gameplay experience. Without actually playing the game you’re missing out on the challenge of the game and a certain level of agency we have over the character-- this is something unique to video games. Even if that level of agency is heavily guided.

Just crossed 700 hours last weekend. 650 of them on support. The enjoyment I get from Overwatch comes from loving the quick thinking, the evaluation, the trades, the numbers. Strategy at 100mph. I like putting my team’s needs in front of my own. I like the teamwork execution feeling.

As a non-pro but decent competitive player (diamond), I assumed the change was to negate more of the feels-bad moments. Sometimes you’d lose three in a row and be tilted into the stratosphere. Blizzard attempted to remediate this issue before by not animating the loss of points when you lose— while totally hyping up

which actually gives gamepad players the advantage within those ranges.”

Alright sick, well have fun with the advantages in literally all the other ranges then.

The game is very fun. But the launch has been really bumpy. If you’re thin on patience right now, I would wait till the end of the week to log on.

Gotta be one of the most Capital-G Gamer articles I’ve ever read. The need to hate on everything is reaching critical mass. Huge turn off, Kotaku.

I thought everyone sounded great... idk why people are saying Chris sounds like Chris... he has a brooklyn accent in the small sample they shared. Pretty cool take on Mario. idk. The internet loves a dogpile. Gamers can’t be happy about anything. They decided before they even heard him.

I don’t know shit about this but I’m gonna go with the established world champion who has never had a dramatic public persona and has lost gracefully to many other prodigies, over a confessed cheater who has a rise through chess faster than any other human in history.

Sable is the most refreshingly minimal game I have played in years. If you believe less is more, Sable is the game for you.

You are talking about technical limitations, which are being solved at an astounding rate. Video being pre-buffered was a technical solution to a problem that people scoffed at too. This is called development.

That’s definitely very true. Still doesn’t stop digital streaming as nearly 88% of home movie revenue.

The “decent internet” argument was used ten years ago with DVDs too...

You example is correct but the use-cases for NFT technology are much more varied than just being able to use a video game character in multiple titles. It is interesting to me, especially since we own so little of our video game content now.

The concept of an NFT game is really cool to me— you own the assets and can manage them in other parts of the digital world. The actuality of it is a bunch of crypto bros building a ponzi scheme to sell you worthless shit for $30k a pop.

That’s the way to do it!
