The Chevrolet LS series of engines. Horsepower, torque, simplicity, compact V8 format, inexpensive relative to complex OHC engines, and capable of providing respectable fuel economy.

GM is the world leader in conventional TQ-based automatic transmissions, especially at the power levels we're looking at. No one else comes close. To insist on DCT which may be slower / less capable / less reliable simply for the sake of "DCT" is pretty stupid.
Given that Chevy will sell you a MT Z06, I don't know why Jack's panties are in a bunch.
