The play points out that the technology has some positives, and there is no rabid misogyny in it, so it's different from Black Mirror in those regards.

Spring Breakers absolutely deserved more attention from the Academy. I'm fine with Only God Forgives being ignored (I like Refn a lot, and… I tried), but the fact that Drive didn't get a best picture nomination, best director, best adapted screenplay, best score (again for Martinez)… in a year, 2011, that could EASILY

Honestly, season 1 is damn good. There are only 6 episodes, which clearly helped. That insane I-hate-you-God monologue from the beginning of ep3, and the moments in eps 5 (when they get to the health institute and Noah Emmerich) and 6 (the musical cue from "Sunshine" as the RV is traveling) are still great.

The chess computer one is amazing, though, especially if you play chess.

Misery and A Few Good Men get him a third and fourth, in my view.

This needs a whole lot more likes. Well played, @bfred.

Nestor Carbonell is indeed a great actor, but it probably didn't hurt his chances of getting hired on Bates Motel that Carlton Cuse was the showrunner.

Gremlins 2. It's an outstanding example of a movie that wasn't made but escaped from a lab.

Pretty sure the trail mix is a reference to *another* Errol Morris movie, A Brief History of Time, which features a coffee cup smashing to the ground in slow motion.

Or Lou Solverson and his shifty sort-of partner. That combo would've worked. More: We really like Gabriel Byrne's Tom, and he's defined by the fact that he *won't* kill, that he can outthink… AND there are serious stakes if he *doesn't* kill Turturro's Bernie. We kinda like Bear, but there aren't any consequences if

FInally catching up and I have to comment: Hawley and co. have gotten so much right, it's a goddamn shame they whiffed on the "Miller's Crossing" homage. The Gabriel Byrne/John Turturro scene works because we absolutely hate Turturro's character, have no problem with him dying, but the film and Turturro insist,

So, close @RWGibson13:disqus! So close! You almost win an internets!

Still worth checking out—Ink is on amazon prime. It starts with a bang. IN the middle, you have to give it time, but it builds to a very rewarding ending.

Good news, everyone! The Shield is streaming for free on crackle!

Interdimensional Cable, the first, has that unbelievable gut punch at the end set to Mazzy Star's "Look On Down from the Bridge," but it's also the absurdity of recording seemingly lazy improv…and then animating it.

Lunar Park is his 'mature' book, and it's really heartfelt, creepy and good.

I say cap it at 3. But yeah, a cap is necessary—that would've ended the unholy Modern Family Juggernaut (yes, yes, Modern Family, you really *are* a better comedy than Community, Parks & Rec, Bojack Horseman, Archer, Kimmy Schmidt. /sarcasm).

YES! Thank you. Oh God, that was such a good finale up to the final scene. Grade:
Up to final scene: A-.
Final scene: D+.

The thing is, though, *EVERYONE* except Bojack thinks Vincent Adultman is a real person—so it's clearly not Carolyn's blind spot, it's *every other single person besides Bojack's* blindspot.

Hi, Erik! Good to virtually-see you on the AV Club. (It's one of the guys who wrote Alien Visas.) You gotta check out episode 5 of Rick & Morty, "Meeseks & Destroy," episode 6, "Rick Potion #9," and episode 8 "Rixty Minutes"—probably their three best.
