I’ve learned that when Uber has surge pricing, just use Lyft.

If it lasts for a few months it’s worth $1700. NP.
Just get rid of that segment altogether. By far the worst part of the show. I’ve probably only sat through maybe 2 or 3 of them without skipping ahead.
This is my least favorite era of cars and this one is particularly ugly (wagon aside), but I assume that a car this old in good condition is probably worth $5k, so NP.
I was looking to take a cab from downtown LA to LAX and they told me it would be around $75. The same ride on Uber was $14. Now I actually don’t like Uber as a company and they treat their drivers like shit, but that price difference is insane. I’d be happy paying $25 if they treated their drivers better.
Isn’t that the Swedish national anthem?
I’m sure that people are hesitant to buy the first fully autonomous car, but once the cars have proven themselves to be safe I’m sure the vast majority of people will buy one. People just don’t want to be a beta-tester for the technology.
This would need under 20k miles to be worth anywhere near that. Even then it’s still questionable.
Wow, I figured they’d tank a bit, but even with low mileage they lose 40% after a couple of years.
I really like this, but the price is too damn high. NP at ~$18k.
I’m really impressed that nobody was hit. That is some amazing dumb luck. Not sure why the bystanders wouldn’t back off.
I haven’t seen that style of ambulance in a while. Are they still common in the US? In Canada we’ve mostly moved over to the van style ones, though I think there are some of these still in service.
I’m actually in favor of larger parking tickets. $40 is not really much a deterrent. And considering how much enforcement costs and how hard it is to get people to pay, the city isn’t making much (if any) money.
Is $175 a normal parking ticket in London? I’m used to ~$40 tickets. Normally I don’t really care much about them, but at close to $200, that’s getting to be real money,
It’s possible that this could become a collector car in a few years, but given that it is a blatant rip-off of the Ferrari, I can’t see it going for over $25k for at least another 10-15 years. CP for now.
The bikers are certainly assholes, but the car driver should have just let it go. Getting into a confrontation isn’t going to help. He should get his passenger to call the police.
I actually agree with you, assuming he doesn’t have a history of excessive speeding. The justice system shouldn’t be about punishment, it should be about rehabilitation. And putting someone in jail for excessive speeding is just going to potentially ruin their lives.
Which is really weird. The current 3 looks great and seems to be reliable. I even hear it drives well.
I think that the majority of them (75%+) used to be normal public street parking. In the downtown core they mostly just use spaces in private garages, but everywhere else it’s generally street parking.
I’d like to see a study (in my city) looking into whether car sharing services lower the number of parking spaces needed. There are half a dozen or so of the services here in Vancouver and each of them has their own designated spots. They seem to be used a fair amount, but I’d guess that most people would just take a…
