I think that this is their main problem. I would buy a GTI if I felt it was as reliable as a Toyota/Honda/etc. Even Ford has their shit together lately. But VW just seems to put style/marketing above quality.

If they really want to fix their reputation for terrible reliability, a 10 year / 100k warranty would be a great way to do that. Unfortunately it would probably cost them a bundle since they apparently still can't build a car that won't fall apart (according to recent quality surveys).
Well Honda is just about the worst choice for a "driver's car" lately.
I'm not really informed enough to have an opinion on US air deployments (and I'm not a US citizen), but I just think that it's awesome that there is a Ramstein Air Base.
This is pretty much what I do, though probably 60-120 seconds when its cold out. And I try to wait until the temp needle is above the bottom "cold" line before going over 3k.
It's too bad that the collector hoarder is already dead, because he deserves to be punished for treating these cars so badly. I really hope that many of these can and will be saved.
Ah yes, the safety issue. I do remember reading something about that. I guess if they need to do a complete redesign to add crumple zones, etc then it just isn't worth the cost.
They should really charge money for this type of thing. Sure you can make a half-assed justification by saying it for training or something, but why not charge for it? Your fortune 500 company having their annual summer BBQ? Pay $20,000 and have a B2 flyover. At least this would help mitigate some of the costs.
I actually like zombie movies/tv, but I don't think it adds any value to the vehicle. Given the mileage and the bit of work to remove all of the zombie stuff, I'd say it's worth $3000 at best. CP.
$50 and 1lb is not worth it to me. These aren't even worth the dash space they take up. If they took up no space, were free, weighed nothing, and were indestructible, then I'd be ok with them (though still not really use them much).
Why are they stopping production? Here in Canada, even 20 year old ones can fetch over $50k in good condition. Considering that they have a reputation as being the best at what they do, do they really not sell enough to be profitable?
the shooting was due to a "reflex-like involuntary muscle contraction" in Bullock's right hand, one caused by his car door bumping his left side.
I also wish that backup cameras were not going to be mandatory. They are nice for parallel parking I guess, but I don't want the added cost and weight with the potential to have to fix them when they break. Plus they never look good.
I completely disagree. As long as they don't smell I don't really care what they look like. Preferably no visible open sores. They are just giving out drinks and food. In first class sure they should be more presentable, but in cattle class, I am fine with the Denny's experience. If they can hire any ugly slob to…
Yeah there has to be a reason that he wants it gone that badly. The ad says "original 7mgte engine cover" so presumably the 7mgte. I won't be able to make it out that way until the weekend, but maybe I'll give it a go. Definitely take it to my mechanic and throw it up on the lift before I actually bought it.
Just saw this one that is local to me. Very tempted, especially since the seller sounds desperate and would probably take a lot less:
Beards are the best though. All you have to do is be lazy and you get a beard. Who cares what they look like. I usually grow mine out for a few months until the wife nags me to shave it off. Shave, rinse, repeat.
I wouldn't spend that kind of money on buying one for general use, but I can see why people would buy then as more of an art piece. One of my friends has an absolutely gorgeous John Neeman axe. It would be like owning a baseball bat handmade by the world's best bat maker. Not any better than a machine made one, but…
