The way you describe buying a "normal car" is not how I buy my "normal cars" at all.

So he's hyping 84mpg and $6800 and says they're at 81mpg and $7300. Not when (if) it actually makes it to production they'll probably be closer to 78mpg and $8000. That isn't really a great deal for an updated backwards Reliant Robin.

I don't understand why people care about which stereotype of people drive a car they like. The type of person that drives a given car has never factored into any of my car purchase decisions. Same with badges. Considering a brand from a quality perspective or even a buying experience perspective makes sense, but

I was ok with Fiat and Chrysler merging since they were the two least reliable major automakers. But I really hope they don't bring anyone else down to their level. VW isn't much better I guess...

Any profession that is based on strict procedure is probably better done by an automatic system

Also, I speed up when I pass people, which goes against the cruise control thing.

Possibly. Being cold for 5 minutes just isn't a big deal to me. -25c is pretty extreme though, so I would probably reconsider at that point. Another commenter had a good point that if you have to spend 5 minutes scraping snow/ice off of your can then you get pretty damn cold. Of course I park inside, so no issue

Ok, that makes sense. I live in a condo with underground parking, so I've never been there.

"Regret rape" can also be when someone has great sex then decides the next day that they regret it. Many people file rape complaints after consenting and having great sex. This doesn't get enough attention and it happens very frequently.

I just don't use cruise control. It's been on ever car that I've owned, but I've only used it a handful of times just too see if it functions on a given car. Even on longer road trips (1000+ miles), I just don't see the point in it.

Using cruise control to pass people seems pretty rare though, unless you have your cruise set way over the speed limit.

Cooled seats make so much more sense to me than heated seats. Never actually tried them though.

This is just lazy. I've never owned a car with them, but have driven plenty. I just turn on my lights when it is not sunny. Not difficult. Certainly not worth the additional risk of it breaking.

I just don't understand this. It gets down to -10c here on occasion and my ass still isn't cold sitting in my car. And when the seat heater is on it feels really uncomfortable. A heated steering wheel sounds even worse. Do people get cold hands driving? I just don't get it.

That actually makes sense. I could see my newly-retired parents getting this. Except they just bought a used Lexus RX450h since it should last forever and gets amazing fuel mileage.

It's hard for me to wrap my mind around someone wanting to rent their car to a complete stranger. I wouldn't let a total stranger drive my car even if I was sitting next to them (unless I'm trying to sell it). The only way I would rent a car to someone is if I was allowed to rent out a (for example) $1000 1992 Honda

This is actually really good news. For once the government actually acts fiscally responsible. No reason to pay someone a relatively higher government wage just to drive non-VIPs around when you can get someone else to do it for free. +1 to the secret service for this.

Holocaust survivors might not agree with you.

Or how about,

I can see that it would be hard to legislate the entire list of acceptable shirt materials without having a licensing board that approves specific shirts for use (similar to helmets). At least they go part way, better than most places I think.
