To be fair, the auto industry hasn’t exactly nailed implementing security into existing CAN/infotainment systems, so they aren’t inspiring confidence that they’ll get it right for autonomous driving systems either.
From what it sounds like, she gets uber, sets destination to friend’s house, where there’s no surge pricing. Then, on/near arrival at friend’s house, original person updates destination to the airport. And for some reason, this change to the destination didn’t trigger the surge alert.

I was really apprehensive about the the remote that comes with the Hub. I’m used to various versions that have LCD screens and backlit keys, and I’m finding I’m not really missing the LCD screen all that much, but I agree, having backlit keys would really make the remote far more usable.

I did too. Better than expected. Not to say it was good, I just went in with really low expectations. Was fairly enjoyable though.
