I’ve beaten the flagship several times over the years, and there’s definitely a balance to it. Survival through the main game and building towards the boss.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it was only two games. One for Midgar, one for the rest of the open world but trimmed down. There’s a lot of filler in FF7.

FF7R is being released as a new series of full games, kinda like the FFXIII trilogy. I wouldn’t be surprised if the game was at least as open/long as FFXV, which is a fairly low bar to clear for them.

And people were worried that the FF7R delay would put it too close to Cyberpunk...
