For those who don't have time to read through their sources:

What about that Legolas chick from the first movies? She was pretty awesome.

Sure, but now you've upgraded them to being "morally opposed" to nude calendars without much evidence, really. It's money for a school bus, not to save their starving children from having their knee-caps broken by the mafia, or whatever.

Hmm, if you consider "choosing to do something you don't necessarily enjoy, to gain a benefit for yourself or others" to be exploitation, then it seems most people with a job are exploiting themselves every day.

I expect school officials and local police to take "being vigilant" to complete absurdity during times like this, but no sane judge would sign off on a search warrant based on a doodle.

The word cyborg can mean a living organism a mechanical body part. Articles like these are usually based on the difference between the popular perception of a term's meaning and a very pedantic definition.

I mean this with the greatest possible respect: #2 is the sort of bullshit that gives popular science journalism a bad name.

It belongs under social science as the subject of study.

I'm assuming that's just a typo: epigenetic changes are heritable. That's kind of the whole point, they're heritable factors that are not changes in the DNA sequence itself.

Breast cancer mortality rates have decreased by over 20% in the last two decades. It may seem like "not much", but that's 10,000 women who will not die this year.

Andy Whitfield and John Hannah made that show worth watching (well, and Lucy Lawless and Jaime Murray for a while there), without them the last season was a giant pile of meh.

Men in Black III wasn't terrible. it actually had some funny moments, which is all I want out of a MIB flick.

Ha! Thanks for finally admitting what a turd Prometheus was. It gives me an odd sense of closure.

I just hope they switch to having alternating episodes focused on fewer storylines. That was my biggest problem with Season 2 - you just can't get engaged with something told in 2 minute chunks.
