Fair enough, I'll rephrase: we're all just reading bad children's books for grown-ups for some reason.

Is setting up today's YA sci-fi boom such a good thing, though?

Oh man, after a few years their Magic Underwear must get ripe.

It's interesting that women are very well represented in the "top selling" categories. If you go by "most popular, all time" 5 of the top 10 are women, including the top 3 spots; and of course Agatha Christie has sold more copies than the next 5 combined (unless you count Billy as "fiction", which is ... debatable).

Dan Brown

I'm feeling way out of the loop again - I'm only vaguely aware of Tebow from the Tebowing thing a while back.

Or, you know, it could be that it's a complex issue and this represents a good-will effort that falls short in some ways. But no, I'm sure the APA is just a bunch of transphobic assholes.

Ooh, maybe then can hire a writer this time!

The hell? The movie came out two years ago, can we calm down with the whole "spoiler" thing, just a little?

No social merit? Kind of a matter of perspective, I'd say. No argument about selling to the New York Post though, that's pretty deplorable.

And?

Interesting, can't say I've ever thought of it as especially Pythonesque, or even just wacky - that movie is dark. Though I suppose Yury Yakovlev is basically the Russian John Cleese.

Just to nit-pick for the fun of it: hemoglobin isn't a "cell in the blood", it's a protein in red blood cells.

I love that this man clearly embraced his calling and went full Papa Smurf!

So it's not the university doing this, but a student club?

Wait, what manner of diversity is Melissa McCarthy? Irish?

Of course they are - check the comments - because everything is always the worst.

This is what puts many people off of Dark Blank discussions - he didn't "discover" any such thing, it's a hypothesis he had that fit with his theories, under certain assumptions. It's barely more than an idea.

That makes more sense. I did mean fur, not "fur", though.

I don't really get some of the more snide remarks - I think we can be pretty confident that dinosaurs didn't have fur on their faces.
