In that case, it’s actually pretty fucked up if the military is providing soldiers with gluten-free meals but still not allowing people with celiac disease to serve. (Or maybe Ted Cruz is just lying his ass off about the gluten-free meals, as usual..who knows?)

Folks with celiac disease or other “intestinal absorption” issues are not allowed to serve in the military as those are considered disqualifying disabilities. As they probably should be, since it is not within the military’s need for efficiency and uniformity to have to deal with ‘well you get this and you get this…

And those of us who can’t, aren’t allowed to join the military anyway because it is a disqualifying disability.
