I was always felt guilty for liking this movie.

The problem with right wing comedy in general is it focuses on the right wing, not the comedy. It cares about the message first. When people on the right complained about Stewart or Colbert, this is what they missed. The focus, most of the time anyway, was on the humor and not the political point.
