I reread them yearly too. Daine is a bit of a painful Mary Sue to me now, but Alanna will never change.

It's been my experience that when you really want somebody to know, they won't. And when you really don't want them to know — like you're a 13-year-old girl mooning over your English teacher — the entire staff knows and is tittering at you during staff meetings.

Yes. "Screwed over" is also a hilarious term to use considering all the other shit people have pulled on each other on this show. Yeah, it was a little shitty that she took this opportunity without telling her friend that she wanted the role too so couldn't help her, but Megan overall has been a fairly decent person.

Yes! And when he's at home, he wears baby blue sweaters and reads and drinks wine. I like how TTOI throws in bits of random characterization you might not normally expect, in a way that feels like real life is. There's an episode where Glenn is away on the weekend helping his sister drywall or paint, and Terri is

I think this episode was also the first appearance of Sam … Tucker's exec assistant, I think. I love her, because she's perfectly nice (which you wouldn't expect from a Tucker underling, say, like Jamie) and Tucker's obviously very kind to her. She's so important in showing that Tucker isn't just mean for mean's sake.

Hah, no problem. I was at a really lucky school (Olympic size, biiiitches!) … various public school pools have been closing and being "saved" back and forth for about a decade now in this city.

Gym? Just swim, right? I never missed gym because of a period.

We pretty much followed the whole thing from mouth to floor. And that was telegraphed relatively far in advance, what with the long climb upwards.

Probably because that's how she introduced herself. I have a hard time thinking Megan introduces herself as "Mrs. Draper" to anyone except Don's clients or in a formal setting.

Well, we almost saw Duck Phillips drop a deuce on Roger's chair. To me, that was grosser, even if technically there was nothing but a fart.

Same. This is a longer stretch … but I wonder if there's any parallel with Grampa Gene letting Sally drive. (I can't really think of why there would be … probably not.)
