What’s curious is that they didn’t inform the winner of this sensible practice. And she’s been asking them to show her the money! Why don’t they just tell her how long she needs to wait?

he doesn’t mention marvel movies in this interview; the fact that people are still bringing that into any discussion he has about film shows why the AVClub is able to pull a statement from his press tour for the freaking movie he made and people will flock to the comments to ask why he dare say something about movies.

Thing is, in the source article, they did! But the avclub is a media vulture, stripping context and information for the most reactionary-baiting snark possible.

“Reached for comment in his guest-room, Wolf was surprisingly effusive in her praise for the comedian....”

To be clear, I take no issue with Caddyshack II being on the list. Just the callout against Randy.

Lol why not just sing a song called “sun-down town” and be done with it?

Jack did his best work with Stan. Steve did his best work with Stan.”

On the one hand I agree that Lee did bring a lot to their collaborations, and it’s important to note that Lee’s famously “hep” jazzy dialogue style, as corny as it may seem now, was leaps and bounds ahead of the dry schematic exposition that the Distinguished Competition relied on for too long.

True. I’m glad he got fucked in his last years, some of it by his own family. Hope you rot in hell, Stan.

At least karma paid him back a thousand fold and his final years were a fucking misery. The recent bio is grim reading.

Ishtar is not bad at all. It’s funny. It’s a Hope/Crosby road movie, and unlike that series, they spent money actually GOING on the road to their locations. The too-old leads lean into their too-oldness, and their lack of hipness - and the awful songs (shout-out to Paul Williams) are hilariously bad.

Yeah people are shitting on it without knowing about what it was. I never got a chance to go but the only complaint I heard from people who went were that it was way to expensive and that the itinerary your given was restrictive(ie you felt like you were constantly being pulled to the next thing and didn’t get to

He wants to be one of the cool kids so desperately that he bought the school and made himself principal

Hell yeah, hook it to my veins.

Fuck the haters, I’m a millennial of a certain age and I am here for this shit.

I’m not so sure about this. Anytime I’m hiring a contractor, and they say “I’m gonna bring my nephew in to handle this one,” it does not portend good things.

pro athletes get paid handsomely to wear name brand clothes in public. You are doing the exact same thing right now for free for Disney.

I’ve been really really enjoying watching people get upset while defending Quantumania. It’s this amazing and embarrassing thing. You’re actually upset that a mega-franchise isn’t being universally liked. You realize people get paid to do what your doing right now?

It’s just so fascinating to see how far Mickey Mouse

Not sure what people who (1) don’t read the comics and (2) aren’t aware of this movie have to do with the conversation about how people who are aware of this movie are perceiving it.

There’s that, too. But also, Thunderbolts and Suicide Squad work best when it’s an interesting selection of otherwise forgotten, third- or fourth-string characters. Not just like literally everyone in a relatively small shared universe who doesn’t have their own film. That isn’t fun, it’s just housekeeping.
