the way vegans react to my keto is insane - i show them my scars and say “shut up”. I don’t know why people have to get so up in arms about whatever their dietary decisions are.

This is the episode I just left off at. Tonally the show is kinda all over the place. I actually think the show does a lot of interesting things. It definitely lied with all the promotion. I was sold on a show that was about vengence ala Revenge aka The Countess of Monte Crisco. Instead my impression of the show eight

There actually is a really good episode there centered around the right to choose and parental consent to abortion, etc. Yes, there is a demon part but Michael Ian Black is involved here so just know it's pretty silly and clearly so

omg, this part of review is so wrong, I can’t even not laugh on that. Watch the show yourself, and then read this review again. It is pathetic, how reviewer hated this show and watched it in full without actually understanding what was going on the screen.

They’ll have to do better than a single study of 20 participants to prove that it actually lowers inflammation

Yeah, no, these guys can eat me. Beat the maggots to the punch when I die.

I was going to say his apology is better than most, but then I read the charges. Holy shit. Sometimes it’s more than just a substance abuse problem. I’ve been pretty hammered before and never abused women. It’s not hard. Just have another drink and get lost in the vibe, man.

So you’re spreading an anti-abortion message by targeting a product that you wouldn’t need if you already decided to not have an abortion...

I...just...what??? What on earth is the thought process here? “Abortion is wrong! I’ll put these pictures into a box of diapers because...wait, living human babies wear diapers so they weren’t aborted...uh...oh fuck it.”

Yeah my students do a double take when I mention that I typically rate as an introvert on any “personality test”.  They don’t understand the difference between a lecture or office hours where I know the basic structure of everything that’s going to be said and have a sense of control vs. the sheer terror of the party

This! I also don’t want to talk with someone who won’t care about the small things, because those define much of my everyday life. I’ve noticed the friends I have that value “Deep” conversations are also the bad(or no) gift givers, they would never offer to help with a move or petsit, and they were generally unaware

I despise small talk but it’s an important part of civilized human interaction and a skill worth acquiring.

You know that quote that goes “I don’t wanna talk about the weather I want to know about the universe of atoms in your mind and blah blah blah..” or however it goes?

Introvert here. I can speak to two people or 10,000, it doesn’t matter. I can do it for a day or so, but at the end, I’m going to need serious recovery time.

This is true. I worked remotely for years and while directed communication is great if you need to find a thing out, it’s a poor substitute for what you learn about an organization while you’ve gone for a walk for coffee with a colleague.

I don’t love small talk, but I do agree that there’s a lot of value to it. For strangers, it’s a basic act of acknowledging that someone exists and is worth engaging with. And with non-strangers, whether I enjoy someone’s company or not, it acknowledges that sustaining a relationship with them is valuable on some

No.

This. Introversion >< shyness. I joke that I’m so far out on the introversion end of the scale, I’m practically dead — but I love chatting to people one-on-one, or even in a group of 3 or 4 people. (It’s large group conversations and parties that I find utterly draining.)

It’s important to remember that being introverted does not mean that you are shy or lack social skills or don’t like human interaction. There are plenty of social introverts like myself who enjoy the company of others, but maybe hang back in most social situations or feel comfortable in small groups/one-on-one outings

I lost 100lbs about 4 years ago. I’m so glad high waisted styles have come into fashion. I have a smaller waist but my thighs, hips, and butt are all larger thanks to my bicycle. High waisted just makes everything look a little smoother and it stays up better. Also shout out to American Eagle and Arie for having both
