Uh yeah I was commiserating with your experience.

There’s real pressure in our society to never be sad or disappointed because that’s “negative.” No one is really allowed to mourn much, or at least not visibly. I don’t think it’s doing us any favors.
“Feeling shitty” is not something we tolerate very well in ourselves or in the people around us. It’s a totally normal and HEALTHY way to feel after losing someone you loved but there’s a ton of pressure to “move on” and not bum other people out with your “negativity.”
What I didn’t know is that you grieve for a long time after the people around you have forgotten you lost a loved one. You may rush out of a meeting in tears because your older sister just posted the “dad giving away the bride” picture that you’ll never get and your co-workers will have no idea what’s wrong with you,…
I think pretty much anyone who finds the right nutritious diet/exercise for them is going to benefit healthwise. It’s the fighting between the vegans, vegetarians, paleo people, clean eaters, keto people, etc. and the fighting between Zumbaists, runners, bodybuilders, power lifters, Crossfitters, yogis, etc. that I’m…
I’m sure I retain less water when I cut back salt but I also retain less joy.
Stuff in my store bought food that doesn’t need to be there pisses me off, like sugar in bread.
I suspect I enjoyed none of the promised benefits of the Whole 30 because I was already eating well. Again, the proponents just insist I did it wrong instead of accepting different people are different.
Diet and fitness is the new religion - everybody thinks their way is the only way and that heathens need to be reeducated for their own good. It’s crazy.
I read another review from another reviewer who hated it, but slightly touched on its depiction of binge eating disorder. As someone who has that, the description sounded fairly accurate.
One of the few benefits of being born in U.S. is not having to eat insects to stave off starvation. Yet.
By Episode 8, all conflict is explained by a nonexistent demon living inside of Patty, which serves to humiliate the Southern, Christian environment where her story takes place.
I can’t believe I didn’t think put this in my first comment on this thread. But the way Atkins effed you up but vegetarianism cured you? I experienced the absolute reverse - vegan for ten years and got consistently fatter and sicker. Returning to an omnivorous diet, then limiting my carbs to 100 grams/day (which…
I don’t think any one diet works for everyone, hence the diet wars. People are really vested in “my diet and exercise plan is the only good one and if yours is different you gonna die.”
“To be honest, the science isn’t totally clear on this, but we asked some experts anyway.”
I tried getting it serviced where I bought it. Except their service center was run by disorganized clowns who fucked up so bad they comped me $300 worth of labor and parts and sent me an apology card only to keep being disorganized clowns (and the $300 repair only lasted a few weeks.) So I take it to an independent…
I love teaching but a classroom session leaves me with a massive adrenaline crash from being “on” for fifty minutes. And I don’t even lecture - I do a flipped class and mostly just provide individualized guidance as they do their exercises. I don’t know how full time instructors do it. (I’m an adjunct in the…
OMG, the number of times I’ve described myself as introverted to hear “What????? But you don’t seem shy at all!!!”
Aerie boyshorts 4EVA.
I wear boyshort style underwear which I recently overheard two men scoffing at as “granny panties.” (In general scoffing - I wasn’t pantsless in public, fun as it may be.)
