Agree 100%. If your parents don’t trust you that much, then maybe you shouldn’t be driving. They’re supposed to have had six months alongside you with your permit and if they don’t trust you by then, you probably don’t belong on the roads alone.

I see where you are coming from, but I think it would be a different story if the kid bought the car and is covering all expenses 100%.
