NPR had a bit about families making $100k+ who are still struggling. I think it might be part of a series.

I just want to get to the place where I have the income that I owe $1 million in taxes.

Fake news! Those people don’t really exist. If you’re poor, it’s because you haven’t pulled up hard enough on your own bootstraps. /s

There have been proposals to grow human-compatible organs in pigs, so I’ve always assumed we’d be closer to pork. I suppose you could experiment with hufu to get the flavor right.

Probably thinking of this:

NPR had a nightly show for the first 100 days after the inauguration where they were actively trying to get people from different backgrounds to call in and discuss things. On one of the first shows, they asked for callers with something like, “If you voted for Trump and don’t believe it’s in your own personal best

The Big Three seemed convinced the Japanese were doing magic back then. Reminds me of this story.

Tesla keeps pretty close track of their cars. If they know someone bought one to reverse engineer it, they might disable it.

I’d say bring on the asteroid mining, but we all know where that leads on this front.

That’s... really weird. I essentially just told exactly the opposite story about the Subaru meet I went to last weekend.

I too missed the original post, so will tack on here.

Not me but a friend and not a car but a bike meet.

I think I speak for everyone when I say this: I hate you so much right now.

Especially a classic. I thought most pony car enthusiasts liked the old ones?

Government fleet auctions are also a good place to look.

I could do what you described if I wanted, but I never would: it’s trivial to put that money to work for more than the interest rate on an auto loan. I’m paying 3.5% on my loan right now, and my broad base mutual funds average 7-8%.
