After a bit of googling, of course it’s a little black girl.

Before I even read the article I’m guessing the 16 was a black girl

“Anyone who makes fun of him is an Uncle Tom? I dont see the connection.”

This is good kinja

cool!

Like Djimon Hounsou in that laughably bad Tarzan movie

Fair enough and you’re right. Given how outspoken Cho is in regards to racism I was more inclined to take her word over Swinton’s. But still, you’re correct.

Well then, I’m a huge idiot. If Margaret Cho doesn’t apologize I will for my original comment.

My first thought was to dismiss this but it’s the holidays and work is light and i have the time to address white people and your willfull ignorance to this sort of racism.

This does not surprise me in the slightest. There are just certain people who you can tell are like that and Swinton definitely has those vibes. Oh shit, I could have sworn reading somewhere that he was dead. This is good news

Even if he does die in the end, if it isn’t specifically portrayed as some sort of just-desserts for that character’s decision, then, no, hard pass.

Right? Like what even is this? Some entitled chad got a boner and woke up a person, dooming them to a lonely and maddening lifetime in the literal void. How is the fallout from Pratt’s character’s unbelievably selfish decision not the story?

“An unforeseen event awakens Pratt’s character, who makes the crude decision to wake up Lawrence’s character as well for companionship”

Start with Three Body Problem and then read Dark Forest and Death’s End. Dark Forest is the sequal to Three Body Problem.

From his translation efforts to his own works of fiction, Ken Liu is a literary gem. Just know that although he wasn’t the one who did the translation for the Dark Forest, it was still well done. The opening of the book is perhaps one of the most interesting openings I’ve read in a story and after reading the ending

Hands down the best thing i read this year was Cixin Liu’s Dark Forest and Ted Chiang’s Stories of Your Life. Currently finishing Brief History of Seven Killings and waiting for someone to get me Deaths End for christmas
