Yes, as long as the cord isn’t compromised somehow. The problem there is knowing what gauge is right. If you don’t know the ranges it’s tough to give that as a catch-all solution. I don’t know that the average person plugging in the Kitchen Aid knows whether 12 gauge or 16 gauge would be the best.

I am so sorry about your dad.

This made me laugh. Your poor dad!

Please tell me your RAs were fired. That is ridiculous. I’m glad you are OK

OK, there is something about having a mundane object, like a shopping cart, popping up in a place that is not logical, a remote country road, that really is creepy as hell.

Yeah, I’m worried about that, honestly. It’s not looking like marriage is in the cards for me. It’s already getting tougher in my mid-40s to find a decent, if short term, partner. I’m not thinking it’s going to get easier as time goes on.

Yeah, you have one person saying they are trying to take care of their mental health and another person posting childish, stupid memes lauding the “death” of that person and calling them schoolyard names and you back the meme poster?

I can’t help but notice that Loving v. Virginia is pretty much the only marriage law Thomas isn’t calling out in all his nonsense.

I find that “they don’t cure depression” argument very odd. Of course they don’t, I don’t think anyone ever claimed SSRIs did, there is no total cure for depression. Just like there is no cure for Alzheimer’s, or Lupus, or HIV but there are very effective treatments for the symptoms for all of those diseases as well.

There is a very silly part of me that wants him to take this into the world of, like, baby bibs and gag gifts, a la dribble cups. I know that’s not the point, but the idea of a LeBron sippy cup tickles me.

If you aren’t happy with the lineup change, ask for a refund; don’t throw stuff at the guy who showed up on short notice to entertain you.

It’s because it’s inexplicable. The theaters just decided that kids can’t have fun and that suits are not to be worn in theaters for... reasons.

In order to go around HIPPA they just need the information from anyone other than the staff at the clinic. HIPPA is really quite narrow in scope.

Also, I do sort of wish that instead of calling that situation “theoretical” she had said, “that would be a caesarian birth. Are you suggesting women should not be able to have a planned C-section?”

It’s like every teenager ever who got caught by their parents for sneaking out: “Oh, well, I mean, yeah I was at the party. But only at the beginning. Just for a little while. I stayed in the back yard. I totally left before anyone was drinking or doing drugs... “

I think this is a HUGE part of it. If she admits that Trans-women are women she will have to confront her own privilege and won’t be able to fall back onto “but I am a woman, therefore I am TOTALLY MARGINALIZED!” Acknowledging there are different ways to be a woman and different experiences that fall under that

I wouldn’t trust the SFPD further than I could throw it. I absolutely do not trust that this will end.

So? It’s a name, an accepted name in a significant part of the world. The two guys I know named Wolf are both American, born in the U.S. Only one has parents from Germany.

Why does that matter? Where is the rule that you must be ethnically associated with the specific European region that a name is most popular to use it for your child? By that account Travis probably shouldn’t be named Travis. But he is, because his mom wanted to do that, and it’s fine.

Wolf is a normal name in German. It’s usually short for Wolfgang, but there are plenty of kids just named Wolf (usually pronounced ‘Voolf’ but in America they’ll often use the Anglicized pronunciation). I know two.
