Being a muslim ( at least nominally ), I support her proposal as I know it is coming from a good place and not out of hate. 

And this might make me as cynical as a politcian - and I work with them so I should know - but I’ll take a Merkel pretending to be xenophobic so she can get elected over AfD and their overt racism getting elected. Especially now that Trump won the US election.
