Do...do you guys drive cars that *don’t* have a quart of oil stashed someplace?

If it was here in FL I would already be making plans to go look at it tomorrow, and I need a 3rd convertible like I need a couple of ex-wives. MN is just a tad too far, too much work stuff going on. If it was a quiet stretch though...

Oh baby oh baby.

prezzo molto bello!

We had an 08 that was an absolute blast to drive. We had zero issues with it. We heard many other people who had, and others who had not had problems. The mini factory seemed to be a bowl of lemons and oranges. We got an orange.

At that price and age I’d take my chances after an inspection. If it blew up on me I’d repair it. If it did a second time, I’d repair it and sell it. That price is the kind of price where I could afford the risk, but at the age it is, it would either have had its fits or not, IMO, even with the low mileage.

We are transitioning into a time when passenger cars are going to be mostly EV and great ICE drives like the S2000 will be a thing of the past (unfortunately its not the other way around since shitty ass brodozers, suvs and cuvs to a lesser extent will still exist in ICE form for the most part) so expect to see this

Yup - this is one of those cars where you might actually like it more if you weren’t a diehard fan.

5.4 seconds as per Car and Driver amongst several other sources.

I so agree. I’d rather go with a non-metallic color as even when clear coated, they don’t look fake like this.

Though this is the state of the art these days, old cars, particularly from the lower end of the food chain, never look quite right to me with all that deep gloss they never had when new.

My C10 never had A/C... still doesn’t. Does just fine. Of course there isn’t much insulation either so it doesn’t get up to the 140s in the summer with the doors closed.

Where I live (rural Ohio) there are tons of trucks around. Mostly because everyone is too fat to fit in an Accord, not because they haul stuff in their trucks. I’ve never seen so many tonneau covers that I bet never come off.

The 4-4-2 is an up-badged Cutlass S. I made the decision kind of late in the game when I was getting paint done so I still have some Cutlass badge holes in the body so it’s super obvious. Not that it matters. The original 350 with 2-speed auto both blew a very long time ago and it now has a 425 with a Muncie 4-speed.

Man I missed this one! Currently the stable is a 2016 4Runner SR5 and a 2019 GLI with a tune. Both are fun and reliable!

I don’t think this are going to be serious collector cars in the future.

if a 1988 base model 911 can sell for 80 grand 30k for a mint Corvette ZR-1 seems like a steal in comparison!

My a/c in my daily beater BMW e46 stopped blowing cold, so I took it to the mechanic. They wanted $2500 to fix it. They said, “Lets fill it up the system and see how long it takes to leak out.” That was... Jan 2022. It’s been over a year. I check it every couple of months and it’s hardly leaked at all.

If you’re looking for a ZR-1, this is the one to get. Too many Corvettes with low miles suffer from sitting, either because the owners are too old/have too many cars to drive regularly or because they thought they were going to be collectible and worth crazy money, not realizing everyone else was doing the same thing
