Have you ever driven one?  They are a blast to zip around in.  Much more fun than a contemporary Miata, or, in my opinion, other MR2s.

Without getting into the best and worst MR2 generations or MR2 vs. Miata or MR2 v. Boxster (hadn’t thought of that, but yeah, prices are in the same range) I will just say I like these cars, they are agile and zippy, which is what a small sports car is supposed to be.

This looks like a good deal for somebody wanting decent, used transportation and doesn’t mind driving something older...at maybe $5500 or $6000, but I just can’t get up to $8k for a plain Jane twenty five year old Subaru.

The decals are troubling, it the deal killer for me is the aftermarket abomination in the dash. These had one of the coolest 80s stereos ever, and the dash and stereo, stock, are the coolest thing about this car.  No dice, but if it were closer to stock would be a nice price.

I think the price is about market correct if you want one of these, and they are pretty cool.

I would imagine with the wonders of the interwebs, marque specific clubs and European eBay, parts may be easier now than they were when these things were ten years old (in the US anyway).

Yes, stops are dangerous and many abuses occur, but you can train people and inspect all you want, but there are absolutely people who will ignore or purposefully break the rules if they feel no one is watching.

I don’t know the guy, but in my parking garage at work there is a showroom perfect ZX2 occasionally. For reasons I don’t understand Kinja doesn’t let me attach pictures anymore, but look up the picture of a silver new one and you will see the same thing.

I can't bring myself to upvote a 2.5 ton Porsche.  Sorry, no dice.

Not very attractive,  but I wouldn't know if I would even go so far as to call it ugly.  To me the ugly Honda is the 7th generation Accord, slab sided blandness.  Truly ugly

This is a 4-5000 dollar Mercedes, don't hate the modifications/look but it doesn't add value.  As Rob noted these cars are admired, but they don't bring big bucks on the collector market, an overpriced no dice (as opposed to certain pieces of stuff we see on here that to me are no dice at any price).

Though I am not exactly gawking everytime a Solara goes by the Cascada is pretty weird looking, I don’t think modern tall sided vehicles translate very well into convertibles.  A pillar look like it is sitting on top of the front wheel well.

Nice color, reasonably nice shape, 5 speed, sounds like it runs and drives fine. You could buy this, cruise around to picnics and car show on the weekend and spruce it up a little as you go.

ND, don’t want to go through life with everybody asking me where’s my package, or asking me why I was there because they didn’t hire a plumber.

Yeah, hummer, all of them, Lexus's only major miscue, the hideous SC430, comes to mind too.

Agree, I always hear about Prius drivers doing weird things and my first reaction was I never noticed, so then I started paying attention—nope, they drive like everybody else.

I’d be more comfortable sorting it out if it has a Weber or the original induction system, but the hard work, making it pretty, is done.

It is not just pedestrians it is limited vision and the negative affect on accident avoidance. A pillars are huge for crash protection and because they house airbags. Windshields are slanted for aero and styling purposes. I have had cars “ride” up the a pillar blind spot and not see them until the last minute. Rear

Dealer is local to me and seems to sort of specialize in older cars that aren't that special, leaning heavily into water cooled VWs.  Often has a little bit of humor or commentary in the ad copy and is pretty straightforward about telling you what you are getting.
