I have autocrossed dozens of cars, mostly older than the 924/944—so coming from a different perspective I guess. My main complaint about the cars are they are a little big and the driving position is not good, though a smaller diameter steering wheel helps in that department.

This thing is a Corrolla, and yes, millions were made, rusted away, cast aside, but this one isn’t just a Corolla.

Actually I was thinking $4500 would be about right, but agree in general principle it is a bit janky and way overpriced

I am sure I am in the minority, but I think these look better than the 944. Part of the reason they feel slow is first and second gear are kind of tall, so they don’t exactly fly off the line.

Can't argue with the slow part, but "don't handle great"?  These cars have lots of stick with decent tires and are great fun to chuck around

Miata is Always...blah blah blah. Get creative and practical.

Obviously didn’t want her to go down in a blaze of glory

I can't believe it, after years of promoting huge vehicles with tax incentives, safety standards favoring turret topped tanks, and even EPA standards adjusted to aid the bigness, they are finally going to look at how a truck with a 5' tall bluff front end might make it less likely to see a pedestrian and more likely

I consider myself pretty open to most any old car in good, stock condition having some value, but these things were neither attractive, nor fun to drive or reliable when new. They don’t even really have a certain nostalgic of the era feel like a VW Rabbit convertible of the era would. I suppose this thing has some

I saw the resulting article, it didn’t see the source until now. I kind of have the same weird Jones for the type 34. I remember seeing one on the street growing up, this Karmann Ghia that was different, then after a while wondered if it wasn’t some crazy memory, never heard or saw any more about them for years.

I could probably not be that bold, but I think your 911 is going to look awesome when done.  Impressed with the creation and pursuit of the vision.

Oh, Firebird I guess

I believe one of the back sparkplugs is accessed through the footwell

Scarab is a good one, it if you want to go even more obscure there is the Bocar, kind of the same idea as the Scarab, but less money and notoriety behind them. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bocar

Easy nice price for most anybody looking for reliable, cheap transportation.  The needle should be close to 100% NP on this one.

Agree, limited appeal, especially here in the United States.  Maybe more in Europe, but don't see much of a market/interest for this.  No Dice

I don’t think it has to be rear wheel drive, there was that Lotus Elan in the early 90s, but for me a sports car is a Smallish two seater, or a low sling 2 + 2 with a very occasional back seat.

Maybe, just maybe if you wanted a nice one to put in a museum or drive off trailers to shows, but it is Bi-turbo and it will probably break if you look at it wrong in the garage. I looked at it one in the late 80s on a cheapo small gravel covered used car lot. While it was only a few years old it looked like it had

It all look to be in order, I think these are nice looking cars, kind of a understated street cred look.  Spend a couple hours cleaning under the hood (I am not going nick the seller too much on this, at least he got the shiny bits clean and didn't leave two weeks worth of fast food and convenience store crap in the

Not terrible, but that is a lot of miles and peeling clear coat for eight grand and change, nice price at $5-6k, but can't quite get to the asking price.  No dice.
