Easiest nice price of the year so far, and that’s saying...not so much I guess. Anyway, I suspect getting it up to snuff might be a take the initial estimates of time and money and multiply them by a factor of 3 or so, but you can buy it cheap and enjoy it as you go through the fix up adventures, which is much more fun

Point was an Act of God (a legal term not meant literally) is considered something that cannot be reasonably planned for or anticipated. The sun shines and reflects off of things most everyday, that does not seem like an unusual or extraordinary circumstance that couldn’t be anticipated, using the product in the sun

I wasn’t real clear from the story exactly what happened other than the sun reflecting off of something, as it tends to do.  I would agree that if someone put a giant sculpture of a magnifying glass complete with the lens by a parking lot, and you parked your car in the hot spot, that could not be reasonably

Probably could fix it by changing the plastic part to a lighter color.

I think Honda should cover it. There is an “Act of God” doctrine in the law relating to civil liability. Basically stating if something gets destroyed in a hurricane or tornado, that is an circumstance beyond anyone’s control and someone shouldn’t be liable for damages coming out of it (though you can get insurance

I used to call about $3000 the bottom end for finding a decent car that you might be able to drive for a while without spending a lot of money on it, and nothing cosmetically so embarrassing that you would park it down the street and walk to avoid being associated with it.  Now I think that floor is closer to $5k,

Wow, I have heard  a lot of them, can’t work on your car, no commercial vehicles, have to approve the colors you paint your house, but never “can’t wash you car.  That is just nuts, I guess only “the poors” wash their own cars and it cheapens the look of the neighborhood.

Yes, but the general point I was going to make before I got all snarky was that the article and responses seem to be focusing all the reasons people are building more car washes, tax breaks, real estate investment whatever, but not the real reason, a huge market because people don’t wash their cars at home anymore,

All the complications and cost of an aging German car with none of the low center of gravity driving enjoyment. I am out, somebody will buy it, but it doesn’t raise my interest meter enough to punch a few keys and look for comparables.

Millenials—too lazy to do anything for themselves, can’t afford houses, can’t afford hoses, can’t afford a sponge, and don’t want any of those burdensome physcial possessions anyway, and because the boomers ruined the economy for them and the are saddled with too much student debt, plus you can still watch tiktok or

Small planes actually glide really well and are very controllable”

don’t “see” the modifications

The price isn’t far off what is being asked by dealers for similar year and mile models. But I don’t soo the modifications adding any money to the equation, and this one is being sold by a private party, which usually means lower price. Find a stock one for the same money, this is not the droid you are looking for.

I guess I don’t see too many of them or if I do I have taken it is “my desire for this is very strong” not I want to doink a car. If they go into graphically describe some sort sexual activity or desire to have same, sure, goes beyond creepy.

This may be the stupidest article I have ever read on Jalopnik, something I don’t say lightly. It is quite possible to say “she’s beautiful” about a car, or a boat or whatever without wanting to have a sexual relationship with her, it, whatever, it doesn’t matter.

The only thing I have gotten out of dealer chatbots, no matter what question I ask, is for it to respond by asking for my contact information so that somebody (presumably a human salesperson) can get back to me. I must not be playing the game right.

Looking at the current poll, you could call the blue portion a pretty thin slice of nice price, or a pretty fat slice of crazy.

I have grown to kind of like the weird one of fiberglass kit and limited production cars they built in the 50s and 60s. However, by the time this thing was built the idea of improving on factory looks etc. with a fiberglass body had pretty well played out. This thing has no appeal to me, a replica of something that

Yeah, I remember, the FWD non-turbo spec of this car probably saved it from being modified and beat on.

The Diamond Star trio first generation cars were everywhere back in the day.  You would think a few more would have survived but they just didn't.  Anyway, these are rare, and this one is in very nice shape, but I can't quite see getting to the asking price without the Turbo.  No Dice.
