I have owned British cars all my driving life, which started when they were still being sold new (though I was firmly in the used market then), an including MGB about 15 years ago and an MGB GT way back when they were a lot more current.

Yes, we knew this growing up, in the summer, cruising around with no A/C, it was always cooler when we drove by the big cemetery. Of course we attributed this to ghosts, but better cooling properties of greenspace vs. roads and buildings is certainly a plausible theory too.
Don’t know the circumstances here, possible distracted driving, that certainly sounds like a possibility. Distracted driving really needs to be hit with the higher penalties, PR/education campaign, and social stigma that happened with drunk driving starting in the 80s and 90s.
The body kit just isn’t doing it for me, I don’t like the concept in general and the execution is horrible, it doesn’t look well integrated especially where the front bottom of the rear flares meet the door and the rocker panel, so it is already No Dice, then add to that the fact that there is a chunk half broken off…
This thing literally made me smile this morning, I did not know they existed in convertible form. An irrational nice price. And yes I know they are not fast or sporty, it was a small personal transport that wasn't a penalty box and people actually wanted them back then, the hardtops sold in good numbers. Anyway,…
Thirty Eight Hundred for a not roached out most everything works car from a reputable manufacturer is nice price these days, even with high miles. Sad trombone though for a vehicle from the changing of the guard era when we went from sports coupes and sedans being the mainstay of production and model lines to SUVs.
Desirable car, the mods and condition aren't too bad, but over 20k and pushing 200,000 miles is just many miles and too much money. Maybe the market differs, don't know, but for me it is a no dice for the high miles.
I don’t think the parts for these would be that bad, Lotus made than engine for a long time, also used in Jensen Healey’s which rusted away leaving their motors behind. Stromberg carbs, Lucas electrics and lots of bitsa trim from various period cars. Also, considering you pay this or more for a nice MGB or TR6 these…
I never saw that, it looks really good. I have this dream that some manufacturer will make a truck that is lower for better aerodynamics, MPG, load height, and looks, and that people will realize how much better it is than the behemoths that they are now driving and it will sell like hotcakes...alas, it is only a…
I know times have changed quite a bit, but I am seeing rough running trucks for cheap around here again. I agree they have gone way up, but I can’t quite get to $6k for this truck even with all the price increases.
In 2019 I bought a Ranger with slightly more miles (about 220,000) for $950. It ran and drove fine, was a very base model and rough around the edges.
Flip side, they got paid the fare they don't fly a leg the airline saves on fuel and service for the flight, each passenger does add an incremental though probably small amount to each flight for fuel, time spent by staff on the (now fewer) passengers boarding and getting free pretzels and a coke (maybe) on the flight.
I didn’t watch the video, I generally will not watch videos, but wants more visibility and, from the picture, currently drives a BMW, the obvious answer is a BMW 2002, the car with the most glorious greenhouse and best visibility ever.
Yes, totally agree
Towing company does illegal, unethical shit, that is news?
Lack of power accessories isn’t a bad thing on an older car, but I suspect the four pot will keep interest and price down. Guess you could swap in a new engine and transmission, but I would want to pick it up for less if I was going to do all that work.
I agree with most of what you said, but I don’t think going the direction of asking deep personal questions about addiction or the status of your relationship or whatever is going to help matters at all, would make it worse if celebs felt they were going to be hit up with hard or embarrassing questions about their…
The holes may or may not get smaller, but I think there has been enough “embiggening” of vehicles the last couple decades that it is pretty easy to assign fault.
Sort of goes without saying (0r at least we have reached the point where saying it is getting redundant). 5-7 years ago this was a $3000-3,500 car, combination of rising tides lifting all boats and the water cooled Porsches starting to get more love these days you see prices like this.
For me it was the Honda S2000, if you look at the essence of the 2000s as what is was rather than what was to follow this is a good answer. Mazda came out with the Miata a decade earlier, and it sold and sold. Everybody had to come out with their own small, relatively modestly priced sports car and we suddenly had a…
